Stephen A. Smith was born on October 14, 1967, in Bronx borough, New York, and raised in the Hollis section of Queens by his sisters. Stephen’s birth sign is Libra. He is the son of mother Janet Smith. Regarding his father, there is no information about his name. His father was a manager of the hardware store by profession. He has four elder sisters and a younger brother and a half-brother. In 2017 his mother Janet died suffering from cancer and in 2018 his father also died. In 2013 for Sirius XM Radio he left ESPN.  At that time he also made controversial comments against ESPN2. In early 2017 Stephen again moved to ESPN. 

Acting career: On 2007 February 2, Stephen debut on the ABC soap opera General Hospital in a cameo appearance as a Tv reporter. He said that he is a longtime fan of that show. In 2016 he appeared at a Brick General Hospital and made a guest appearance in the role each year. In 2007 he appeared in the Chris Rock Motion picture ‘I Think I Love My Wife’. He also makes an appearance in the series of Oberto all-nature beef jerky commercials as “The Little Voice in Your Stomach” in 2014.
